SoPhiA currently has many open executive positions. It can be very rewarding to gain experience outside the classroom. Here is the positions with short descriptions:
Academic and Accessibility Representative: Deals with academic services and events.
Accountant and Budget Coordinator: Holds responsibility over the budget and financial matters.
ASFA Representative: Main representative between SoPhiA and ASFA. They attend all ASFA council meetings and report back.
Events Coordinator: Responsible for coordinating social events and booking spaces.
Inter-University Liaison: Primary liaison between SoPhiA and other universities. Main responsibility is to liaise with the annual inter-university philosophy conference Philopolis.
Internal Relations and Faculty Liaison: The primary liaison between SoPhiA and the philosophy department administration and faculty. They attend all faculty meetings.
Outreach and Communications Coordinator: Responsible for the distribution of information from SoPhiA.
Sustainability and Inclusivity Advisor: Makes sure the executive and association is moving towards inclusive and sustainable options and practices. They are responsible to distribute the Sheila Mason Bursary.
These positions are open and can be applied to at any time, with immediate appointment. We will hold a General Assembly somewhere mid September to early October to vote these members in officially, though they can assume responsibility before this time.
