Faculty Leaves

Several faculty have left us this year. Dr. Andrea Falcon and Dr. Theodore Lock will be leaving us and not returning in the upcoming terms.

Dr. Andrea Falcon

Dr. Andrea Falcon arrived as an Assistant Professor at Concordia University in July 2005. He became Associate Professor in 2008, and Full Professor in 2020. Almost all current (second year and up) students will have taken a course with him. He had a notable personality, and was a knowledgeable and accomplished student-focused professor.

He taught the ancient philosophy courses PHIL-260, often PHIL-261, and advanced ancient philosophy courses. He has benefitted the department greatly. His leaves saddens us, but he is now teaching at the University of Milan.

Dr. Theodore Locke

Dr. Theodore Locke spent three years in Concordia’s philosophy department as a limited-term professor teaching and working behind the scenes. He taught some logic and eConcordia courses.

He is now a visiting assistant professor position at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. We are sad to see him go, but all the best to his academic career.

Job Opportunities

The Concordia Student Union is making a call to fill up their board of members for several of their committees.

These are all volunteer positions that can be added to your co-curricular record. It’s great experience to add to your resume. The time commitment is usually several hours per month (probably about anywhere from 5-20 hours depending on the position).

By getting involved in these committees, you can have an impact on student life and have voting power on decisions taken within the university. For instance, on the university Senate, you get to vote on any academic decisions, changes to curriculum, and new rules and regulations.
