In addition to the study spaces provided by Concordia, there are study spaces on campus just for philosophy students. These are relaxed study spaces without strict no talking or eating rules. However, please be respectful of other students who are studying.
We have a designated space at the Philosophy department… The Philosophy Lounge.
We have a SoPhiA discord for philosophy program students, and Concordia University has student Discords as well.
The Philosophy Lounge
The Philosophy Lounge is located in room Room MR-11 at 1175 Saint Mathieu (Grey Nuns Building) H3H 2P7. This space is open to all philosophy undergraduates and is shared with the graduate students. This is also where the SoPhiA library is located.
There are couches inside the Lounge and plenty seats to do your school work. It’s often very quiet and cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. We also keep some reading material and chess sets lying about!
Our Discord
The SoPhiA Discord has course-specific channels for all courses given during any specific semester as well as a general chat, a meme chat, and voice channels for study groups. Join here.
